Tutorial Overview

The SiteReptile website builder is a very good tool for first time website authors or for the experienced webmaster.

It is easy to create your own full featured websites in very little time.

The modules for this simple builder include: News, Contact Form, Polling and Photo Gallery.

The software is actually a simple CMS (Content Mangement System) that uses a flat database file. Unlike the conventional CMS it does not use the MySQL database.

Because it does not use the MySQL db, it uses fewer resources and the websites created using the tool run faster than a conventional CMS. The action of the site editor is also faster and smoother than a conventional CMS.

If I compared the tool to a conventional CMS, I would say it resembles Joomla in many ways. I would also say that the SiteReptile text editor is superior to that of the Joomla tool. The performance is much more stable and operations like adding images to web pages is much easier.

The downside of the SiteReptile is its lack of expandability. There are to date no new modules for the builder.

I would like to see a chat, blog and message board created for the tool.

I would still recommend the SiteReptile builder for first time website authors. I cannot say that for any conventional CMS.
