For a brief summary here are some things to consider:
- Gather the information you will use for content on your website.
- Gather the images (pictures) you will use if needed.
- Organize the content and images into pages.
- For simple sites you may only need content for a Home Page, About Us Page, Product or Services Page, Contact Page.
- If building a store front, determine the number of products you will be selling.
- Before adding content to pages be sure to research your keywords on WordTracker.com, if you are going to rely on search engines for traffic.

To create your website with a conventional HTML editor, you will of course need to download an editor.
You'll also need a browser.
